I can’t begin to tell you how lucky JD and I feel to know Lauren, Chase, and their lovely families. Every minute with them has been a great joy, and we always feel so welcomed by them! Not to mention that their entire wedding was so gorgeous and full of style! Let’s take a little sneak peek into Lauren and Chase’s big day.
Before the ceremony, Lauren and her bridesmaids took a moment to admire their jewels.
We took the guys to hang out in the church playground. You know, because that’s just what we do.
Before long, the ceremony was getting started!
Just married!
You may remember from Lauren and Chase’s engagement session that Chase is a Houston firefighter (who managed to get us in to the downtown fire station to take pictures!). Naturally, the Houston Heights Historic Fire House was a great choice for their wedding reception. It was our first time working here, but I hope it won’t be our last! It is such an interesting and beautiful place, and so perfect for these two!
Before I say anything else, I have to take a moment to tell you that Lauren and Chase had a queso fountain. A QUESO FOUNTAIN! Remember two years ago when everyone was freaking out about chocolate fountains (myself included)? Lauren and Chase just went and blew all of our minds to pieces with a queso fountain! I was able to restrain myself from sticking my head in it. I am, of course, a true professional. Behold, a lovely gift from Ninfa’s:
So, on to the reception! A few details:
The dollar dance was a runaway hit, and Lauren’s sister Shannon did a great job keeping the crowd moving-and of course coughing up the cash!
By the way, have I mentioned how incredibly excited we are that Shannon is getting married, too?! She and her fiance Keith are on our calendars for next October, and we will be seeing them soon for their engagement session! We can’t wait!
During the garter toss, Chase went to great lengths to prove to everyone that he wasn’t using his hands!
A bunch of Lauren and Chase’s neighbors made it to the wedding. What a nice group of people!
Everyone had a great time dancing the night away!
Some of the photo booth props escaped to the dance floor!
The reception photo booth was, as always, lots of fun for everyone. We introduced a few new props to our box of goodies, and the crowd favorite was clearly the Hulk hands.
There was a little sweetness, too!
Lauren and Chase had sparklers for their exit-we love sparklers!!
Lauren and Chase, thank you so much for inviting us into your fabulous lives. You have been such a joy to work with, and we hope to see you again soon!
Love,
JD and Jessica

My fav is the one where the groom is trying to get the garter. HAHAHA! You guys have a photobooth? We’ve been thinking about setting one up…never got around to it
The pictures are beyond amazing!…Thank you guys for everything!
Hey! Lurve the church – reminds me of the church I got married in. When we walked in, I told B that was where I was getting married, and if she wanted to marry me, she’d better get there!
They’re selling the church, and I’ve reserved a couple of those lovely white bricks – we’re going to use them to frame an image or something, so we always have a piece of our special place, long after it’s been turned into a WalMart. Isn’t that what’s going to happen to everything?
Oooh also LOVE the LOVE fireworks thingie – very slick.
Love, Love, Love the pictures. They all turned out wonderful! You both did an EXCELLENT job. I am so jealous! I wish that I had a photographer like y’all when I got married
How can I go about getting a copy of a few? Also, I know that the bridemaid Lisa took one with my little Zachary. Is there a way that I can see that one too?
Thanks,
Kristen (Chase’s sister)
LOVE YOUR PICTURES! YOU were a GORGEOUS BRIDE!
I am looking into Houston Heights Fire Station and your pictures are the only ones i can find on this location I have heard great stuff about it. What did you think? If you don’t mind getting back to me. Thanks!!
I’m drooling! Queso fountain, brilliant!
I love your party pictures, photobooth and dance floor. Looks like a wonderful wedding, and so cool you get to hang out with them all again next year!
These are great! Kathy said what a great time it was – these photos prove it! The “love” photo in sparklers is so great too.
The cover shot, the shot at the top of this blog is amazing. It could be used for advertising or a music cover. I love the contrast. If you can have fun with a bride laying on the grass and make her look this beautiful you are a very good photographer.
