Jessica and Paul’s Rustic Handmade Wedding at Lillian Farms, Washington County, TX
Jessica and Paul’s wedding was the stuff wedding dreams are made of! They held their wedding at Lillian Farms in the most gorgeous barn we’ve ever seen, and it was full of endless creative, simply beautiful rustic and handmade wedding details, including our favorite: homemade salsa favors! These details made their wedding such a joy to photograph! But more than that, Jessica and Paul’s wedding was heartwarming and deeply meaningful. Paul’s father performed their ceremony, Jessica’s family spent hours upon hours working on details including amazing wooden flowers, Jessica’s brother played the guitar while she and her father walked down the aisle, and during the reception, there was a special moment where we all got to hear the story of how Jessica and Paul’s relationship started and grew into a new marriage. There were so many wonderful moments during Jessica and Paul’s wedding, it’s simply not possible to remember them all. But of course, we have photos to remember and tell the story of Jessica and Paul’s beautiful wedding day!
How they met:
We met at work. Paul was actually co-workers with my mom before I started working at the same company.
The most fun part of wedding planning:
I think the best part about planning our wedding was seeing my vision come to life and Paul and I getting to spend time together making all the decorations for the wedding. Our wedding was completely DIY so there were many nights we would stay up making signs, lights, wooden boxes, etc. and spending quality time together.
My wedding inspiration was rustic elegance. There are so many details that were special since Paul and I made everything for the wedding ourselves. I think the most unique aspect of the wedding is that we did not use a single real flower. We used sola wood flowers for everything and my sister actually arranged all of the centerpiece flowers. She did an amazing job bringing my vision to life and we appreciate all of her hard work!
Favorite wedding moment:
It isn’t really a moment, but our favorite part by far was the ceremony. Finally seeing each other as I made the walk down the aisle was perfect. We were so blessed that Paul’s dad was able to perform our ceremony and that made it so much more emotional and special.
Favorite wedding day songs:
We spent a lot of time considering the music for our wedding and it was all very personal to us and each song had special meaning. By far, our favorite and most touching song was the music that played as my bridal party and I walked down the aisle. My younger brother, Kyle Haner, wrote the music and played it at the ceremony. There are no words to describe how special it was to walk down the aisle to a song written for us and it couldn’t have been more beautiful and perfect for the wedding!
What Jessica and Paul are looking forward to in their marriage:
There are two things we are looking forward to most. First, we are looking forward to traveling with each other. There are so many places we can’t wait to go and things we want to do with each other. We were able to start this on our honeymoon to Jamaica. We were able to swim with dolphins, ride horses in the ocean and scuba dive. We are both so excited to start planning our next trip! The second thing we are looking forward to is having children together. We cannot wait to add to our family and to see what God has in store for us!
Jessica and Paul’s message to their family:
We would both like to say thank you so much to our families for all of your support and help with the wedding! We felt our entire wedding was so personal because of all of you. We love you all!
