Say, friend – you got any more of that good sarsaparilla?
If you’re in the Houston area, I highly recommend you clear your schedule for Saturday night. There’s a party going on, and it should be awesome.
What’s happening, you ask? Oh, just a large gathering of bloggers, alcohol enthusiasts, creative types and all-around laid back people who would never pee on a freaking rug. You know, us. We’ll be enjoying some high quality alcohol, music, and of course, a showing of The Big Lebowski. Oh, and PS, it’s free. As in beer. Which will also be there.
It’s taking place at the Caroline Collective (4820 Caroline), which is turning out to be one of the coolest office buildings ever. If we actually had a use for it, JD and I would get a space there in a heartbeat. Their opening party was a blast, so I fully expect them to deliver again.
The party starts at 4 and goes to 11. There will be live music from Houston bands Vinyl Ranch and The Tontons until 8, and then it’s time to watch the show.
It will be hot for sure, but there will be plenty of refreshments on hand to keep you sustained. What kind of refreshments, you ask? Do you really have to?
-Saint Arnold. You will recall that JD and I have a special relationship with the good Saint. And it’s pretty much my official policy to show up whenever I hear they’ll be somewhere.
-Tito’s Vodka. They are serving up Caucasians, naturally. They seem to be everywhere these days, and I’m not going to be the one to tell them to go home.
So let’s sum things up. Free. The Big Lebowski. Houston culture. Coolest office ever. Live music. Saint Arnold. Tito’s. A handful of friends, and a couple hundred strangers who like to abide.
You should go.
