AmiLynn and Colleen’s Beautiful Wedding in the Woods at Huntsville State Park Raven Lodge
AmiLynn and Colleen’s wedding was an absolute treat! AmiLynn is a friend from high school and she and Colleen got married at one of my very favorite venues, the Huntsville State Park Raven Lodge.
The setting was gorgeous with the woods on the lake and these two are such a beautiful couple together. There is so much love that they have for each other and as a family with their daughter, Rebecca.
It was also extra special because we got to work alongside another friend from high school, Brandy with Bran Bakes! I had to help myself to seconds at the delicious soup and sandwich bar.
And the funny thing is, I almost missed it all because I happened to be 37 weeks pregnant on their wedding day! But we powered through, I set a personal pregnant photographer record, and got to enjoy this gorgeous wedding day.
Some of my favorite moments from the day were getting to take portraits with AmiLynn and Colleen in the woods and on the lake of Huntsville State Park, the ceremony, and their speeches. I was so touched to hear them tell their family and friends how much their support means to them. Oh, and the cake was pretty amazing, too!
We are so glad that we got to experience and capture AmiLynn and Colleen’s beautiful wedding day. Here’s what the married ladies have to say about it:
Q. How did you two meet?
A. We met online! Lol We were both busy professionals, online dating was the only way to go.
Q. What was the most fun part about planning your wedding?
A. The best part of crafting the ecoflower bouquets and making the signs. Colleen loves being crafty!
Q. What was your wedding inspiration? (decor, theme) Favorite details?
A. Our inspiration was to reflect ourselves. Colleen was raised in a family dedicated to the national and state park system, always camping and hiking. We used our favorite colors-navy and green. Colleen’s family, the Keith side, was represented in the use of the family tartan. AmiLynn and her brother LOVE star wars, so Colleen walked down the aisle to the Imperial March, and her brother Patrick wore an imperial officers uniform! Our daughter Rebecca LOVES to read, and reading is a family value for both of us, so books and book pages were incorporates throughout! Our friends contributed by decorating the 200 cookies as thank you gifts, and decorating the fireplaces. Colleen’s mom and Aunt handmade every heart streamer for months.
Q. What were your favorite songs from your wedding day?
A. We loved walking down the aisle to Jurassic Park Overture and the Imperial March. We incorporated our love of Motown and Soul throughout the day!
Q. What are you most looking forward to in your new married life?
A. We’re looking forward to forever!
Thank you, AmiLynn and Colleen, for making us a part of your wedding day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together! <3

We got to take photos with sweet baby Caroline and her family. She is absolutely perfect, squishy, and adorable and was a dream to photograph. What a treat!
We had a great time visiting with Caroline and her family. It was especially fun to see how her big brother Jackson is so sweet and caring with her. He’s going to be a great big brother for Caroline! We were so happy with all of the great family photos we were able to capture with her.
These are a few of our favorite photos from Caroline’s newborn session:
Thank you to Caroline’s family for trusting us with capturing these special moments while Caroline is still so tiny and new! She is an absolute doll.
Dominique and Jeff’s Gorgeous Downtown Wedding at Treebeard’s Market Square
We so enjoyed Dominique and Jeff’s wedding at Treebeard’s downtown! They both have fun loving families, Treebeard’s did a beautiful job as usual, and everyone was there to just have fun and celebrate this wonderful couple.
The night was full of great moments, from lots of awesome dance moves to Dominique singing with her sorority sisters and Dominique’s dad teaming up with Jeff to serenade her. It was a gorgeous and fun wedding that we were so happy to be a part of!
How they met:
Jeff and I met in 2011 in Cincinnati at a party thrown by mutual friends. We spent the entire night chatting and quizzing each other on capitol cities around the world (we are trivia nerds for sure!) After that first weekend, we continued to get to know one another, spending every weekend together and realizing that we were quite fond of each other!
The most fun part of planning a wedding:
Can I say the end? Haha! Not so much having the planning over, but seeing everything come together so beautifully and perfectly. During the planning process, it often felt like there were so many moving parts that it couldn’t possibly all culminate into one event but when it did, it was really spectacular and rewarding.
Wedding inspiration and favorite details:
I really wanted to go with a winter chic theme. I kept the flowers white to tie into the season, which worked really well. I made the bouquets and had friends and family help put the centerpieces together. I was so pleased with how they looked in the room!
Favorite moment from the wedding:
The first look! Hands down. It was such a touching and special moment between us. I didn’t think I was going to cry but I just couldn’t help myself when I saw Jeff standing there waiting for me. It was so romantic!
Favorite wedding day songs:
My favorite movie is and always has been The Labyrinth. I wanted to dance to “As the World Falls Down” by David Bowie, which is featured in the ballroom scene of The Labyrinth, which we did! It was wonderful. I also had a lot of fun dancing with my father to “My Girl” by The Temptations.
What they’re looking forward to in married life:
I’m so excited for us to continue growing together, going on adventures together and to never stop courting one another!
A special note from Dominique and Jeff:
I was so completely humbled by all of the friends and family that came to Houston to celebrate our wedding with us. It was a weekend filled with love, laughter and was truly unforgettable!
These are a few of our favorite moments from their wedding:
Congratulations, Dominique and Jeff! Thanks for making us a part of your wedding!
We love the Spence family! Melissa and Jason asked us to photograph their vow renewal, and it was important to them (and us!) that we capture a few family photos and portraits of the two of them during this special time in their lives. These little guys kept on our toes with lots of laughs and lots of running! We enjoyed a great sunset and a beautiful loving family. What a blast! These are a few of our favorites from their family portraits.
Stay tuned for photos from Melissa and Jason’s gorgeous vow renewal at Brenner’s!
We are so honored to have been tasked with documenting little Lucy’s entire first year in photos. This is one of our absolute favorite things to do as photographers. We get to watch a family in great anticipation, then greet a squishy, sweet newborn and watch him or her grow into an expressive toddler. It is downright delightful!
Our experience with Lucy and her family has been such a joy. We have LOVED watching her grow, but even more exciting is seeing how her family has grown with her: Maelyn as she became a doting big sister and our friends Katy and Josh as they’ve become parents to two charming and beautiful girls. These are a few of our favorite moments from Lucy’s first year:

Briana and Derek’s Fun Filled Wedding at The San Luis Resort in Galveston, TX
We love Galveston weddings, and Briana and Derek’s was no exception! They had their wedding at the San Luis Resort in Galveston and had so much fun with it. It was clear that everyone had a really good time at this wedding — us included!
Briana and Derek included lots of personal touches in their wedding. They had a flip cup tournament, lots of Star Wars (including in the photobooth!), and a packed dance floor. I loved their comic themed save the dates and invitations, too!
Briana and Derek, thank you for choosing us as your wedding photographers. We had a wonderful time capturing your wedding day!

Whitney and Michael’s Wildflower Hill Country Wedding at The Phoenix Special Events Facility in Weimar, TX
Oh boy, did we love Whitney and Michael’s wedding. Whitney and I are friends from high school, and I love Whitney’s style, so I was in photographer heaven at their wedding! The wildflowers were gorgeous, we loved (LOVED) The Phoenix venue in Weimar, and of course, it was extra fun to have a mini high school reunion and see old friends at their wedding!
Whitney and Michael’s wedding was so laid back and refreshing. There were a few hiccups, including rain on their planned outdoor wedding ceremony. And their custom-engraved rings were still in a Houston package distribution center on the morning of the wedding! The Phoenix facility manager took it upon himself to save the day and drove all the way in to pick them up! I think he moonlights as a superhero when he’s not hosting fabulous weddings. But if Whitney or Michael felt stressed that day, we sure didn’t see it-they were simply in love and ready to get married!
Their details were so personal and delightful. Whitney and Michael love to travel together, so we got to see lots of their travel photos and a map of some of the places they’ve been together — so far! And I think everyone loved seeing their Dumb & Dumber cake.
We loved being able to capture their first look moment, and they had a good time revealing to each other what they’d engraved on their rings. The ceremony was short, sweet, and a beautiful moment. We had fun catching up with old friends at the reception, and the kids in particular had a blast breaking down a pinata!
How they met:
We met on Plenty of Fish with no intentions of anything. Obviously it worked out for the best.
The most fun part of wedding planning:
Trying to keep the actual day/event light and fun. Really putting a lot of personal touches of us was so important in keeping it fun.
Their wedding inspiration:
No real theme, just wanted to plan a great party we got married at. I feel like we really pulled that off. The pinata for the kids was so fun and I am glad we included it. The ceremony was originally supposed to be outside but the rain moved us inside. I really love how the backdrop curtain to the ceremony turned out and I don’t think it would have been that awesome outside. The groom’s cake was also something I was excited for everyone to see. Who doesn’t love Dumb and Dumber? That movie also played a role in us meeting and talking, as my screen name was “fredafelture” and that is why he messaged me.
Their favorite moment from the wedding:
I really liked the pinata because I was able to really see everyone be there gathered around having fun.
Favorite wedding songs:
Bridal processional: Here, There, and Everywhere- the Beatles
First Dance: Corey Smith- First Dance
Processional: Free/Into the Mystic- Zac Brown Band
What they’re looking forward to:
Having fun and sharing adventures together. Passing down our love of travel and adventure to any future kiddos
Thank you, Whitney and Michael, for making us your wedding photographers. We’re honored to have been a part of your wedding and trusted to capture this important start of your lives together!
