It’s geek week here at Snaptacular Photos. First we outsmart Word, now we’re stacking on the RAM (memory) in our computer. And there’s a good reason why.

We pretty much hit the ground running with events and sessions as soon as we got back from our honeymoon, and poor JD started to experience a serious backlog in post-processing. Being busy is always good, but having clients anxiously waiting on photos? Is not. So,we set out to fix the issue before it became a problem.

You may be thinking, big deal, so you have to download a few photos and put them online. How does that create a backlog? The truth is, JD’s artistic talent extends way beyond the camera. We (mostly he) take great photos, but what really makes them shine is the way he works them once they get out of the camera and into Photoshop. I know this is horribly biased, but the things I watch him do with his computer are nothing short of magic. You’ve seen his work-this stuff just doesn’t come straight out of the camera:

Anyway, the point of all this is, working on photos takes a lot of time, and with a slow computer, drives JD crazy. It creates problems in our workflow, and to be honest, it makes him grumpy. So yesterday, he did something about it. He visited our friends at Fry’s and doubled his memory. That’s right, JD’s now working with 4 gigs. And the world is right again:

Now, things are moving along swimmingly. JD’s more productive than ever and our clients are happy. And you will soon be barraged with a multitude of images for your viewing pleasure. Brace yourselves!
